At 10:18 AM on June 28, initial operations simultaneously commenced for three extended lines of Nanchang Metro: the north extension and east extension of Line 1, and the east extension of Line 2. The total length of these extensions is 31.7 kilometers, and the total investment is 24.1 billion yuan. These three lines now connect four major transportation hubs—Changbei Airport, Nanchang West Station, Nanchang Railway Station, and Nanchang East Station—thus establishing a comprehensive integrated transportation system combining aviation, railway, and metro services.
The north extension of Line 1 directly reaches Changbei Airport Station, allowing for fast connections among Changbei International Airport, Changjiu High-speed Railway, and the bus hub. The east extension of Line 2 precisely connects to Nanchang East Station, achieving "same-level transfers" between the metro and high-speed rail, providing an efficient and convenient travel experience for residents. With the opening of these three extensions, the total length of Nanchang Metro in operation increases from 128.5 kilometers to 160.2 kilometers, and the total number of stations reaches 113. Nanchang's metro operation mileage now ranks 21st nationwide.
